The Ashtabula Area City Schools in collaboration with Ashtabula Works held a local Business Expo for Lakeside’s upperclassmen on February 20, 2020 at Lakeside High School in the Auxiliary Gym. Local businesses were on hand to share career opportunities with the students and to convey their need for laborers of all levels and the job opportunities that are available to students immediately after graduation.
The Ashtabula Area City School Board of Education accepted a generous donation from the Gerald Jeffrey Allen Estate at Wednesday’s board meeting.
The Lakeside Junior High Choir performed for the residents of Saybrook Landing and Jefferson Healthcare on Valentine’s Day and made cards to pass out to the residents.
Jason Baxter, Athletic Director of Lakeside High School afforded Ontario Primary School the opportunity to have the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams read to the 2nd graders and work with them in the classroom as part of the 2nd & 7 Foundation program.
Michigan Primary of the Ashtabula Area City Schools has found a behavioral incentive to allow for a drastic decrease in lost instructional time due to behavioral interruptions that often consume instructional time taking away teaching and student learning.
Each Thursday students are inducted from kindergarten classrooms for being Leaders, Learners, and Friends to All. They are given a bow tie or hair tie to wear each Thursday to show that they are following the Dragon's Roar.
