Michigan Primary School

Welcome to Michigan Primary!  I am very excited for this school year with AACS Kindergarten and First Grade students. 

 

I am in my twelfth year in Education and my third year as the Principal at Michigan Primary School. Before becoming a principal I spent most of my teaching career in first grade at Ashtabula Area City Schools , but also have worked with kindergarten through eighth graders at Buckeye Local Schools.

 

I grew up in Ashtabula County, graduating from Edgewood High School in 2008. I then majored in Early Childhood Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University where I earned a bachelor's degree in 2012. Throughout college, I was always working with children. I taught children’s church, taught children’s gymnastics and cheerleading, and worked at the YMCA nursery. I always knew that I wanted to come back to my hometown to teach and make a difference in the lives of children in Ashtabula County. I continued my education by earning my Masters degree in Educational Administration and my Principals license from Youngstown State University in 2020. In my free time I enjoy fishing, beekeeping, spending time with my kids, and coaching Cheerleading for Lakeside Youth Football League.

 

The teachers and staff at Michigan Primary work hard to teach our youngest AACS students all of the academic and social skills they will need to succeed while also making learning fun.  Along with the teachers and staff, I want all students to enjoy school and have pride in the work that they do.
